Triton Academy – Talent Pool for Future Learnership Opportunities

Triton Academy is a QCTO/ TETA-accredited Skills Development Provider that offers Learnership programmes in Freight Handler and Truck Driver to both staff and unemployed learners. These programmes focus on developing industry and job-specific skills, empowering participants with the knowledge and competencies needed to excel in the field. Triton Academy provides these programmes in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Polokwane and can also assist customers wherever possible with the same Learnerships.

Triton Academy is looking for motivated and committed individuals to join their 18-month Occupational Certificate: Freight Handler Learnership, aimed at empowering unemployed South African youth through structured training and hands-on experience within the logistics industry.

Please note: This is not an immediate open position but rather an opportunity to be considered for future learnership intakes

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Key Performance Areas (Training Activities):

  • Loading and off-loading goods from vehicles
  • Preparing a vehicle for trips
  • Receiving, dispatching, and handling freight documentation
  • Delivery and collection of goods and stock
  • General housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment
  • Picking and packing stock accurately
  • Receiving incoming stock and verifying against documentation
  • Ensuring correct stacking and securing of goods for safe transport
  • Performing ancillary warehouse and transport-related duties

Learning & Development:

  • Structured theoretical training aligned with QCTO curriculum
  • Workplace practical experience and mentorship
  • Assessment preparation for final external examination
Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • South African citizen with clear criminal record
  • Aged between 23 and 35 years
  • Matric (Grade 12) / TVET N3 / NQF Level 3
  • Proof of certified Matric certificate and/ or full Academic record and ID 
  • Minimum 40% pass in English and Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy
  • No bursary obligation with another company
  • Not currently employed or studying
  • Preferably reside within 20-25 km radius from the Company
  • Must be medically fit
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Numerically literate
  • Must be able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Must have own reliable transport
  • Computer Literacy (Advantageous)
  • Previous work experience in logistics/warehouse (Advantageous)

Programme information:

  • Programme Title: Occupational Certificate in Freight Handler
  • 18 months Full- time Learnership with Theoretical, Practical & Workplace components
  • Stipend= R4500.00 per month
