Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Graduate Engineer at our Head Office. The successful applicant will report to the Executive Manager: Technical.
Job Description
- Assist in the design, development, and execution of engineering projects related to mechanical systems, data analysis, equipment setup, or facility improvements;
- Use engineering software and tools to monitor performance, diagnose issues, and identify solutions;
- Support with the preparation of project documentation, technical drawings, and specifications as required;
- Conduct research, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations to support project decisions;
- Engage in hands-on work, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving within the operational environment;
- Conduct inspections, testing, and performance evaluations of machinery, equipment, or processes under supervision;
- Maintain well-structured documentation and records of work completed;
- Monitor energy reduction and identify opportunities to reduce usage;
- Prepare detailed reports to demonstrate technical progress and accomplishments on projects;
- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent reoccurring issues;
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, standards and policies;
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies;
- Keep updated with safety standards;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical requirements and project goals are met;
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Aeronautical Engineering (Essential);
- 0-2 years' experience in aviation design, maintenance or related fields (Essential);
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aeronautical engineering fundamentals.
