Purpose of Role
To supervise and monitor civils and infrastructure construction activities on site, ensuring all works align with approved drawings, safety protocols, quality benchmarks and project timelines, while fostering positive collaboration with contractors
Role Context
- Identify potential HSE hazards in collaboration with contractors and confirm that risk mitigation measures are applied effectively, in line with guidance from the HSE team.
- Review contractors’ Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Quality Control Plans against project specifications, standards and relevant regulations.
- Monitor and audit contractors to verify adherence to established safety and quality guidelines.
- Examine contractor daily reports, highlight any delays or emerging issues, and propose solutions to maintain progress.
- Oversee daily infrastructure works, including earthworks,concrete placement,drainage and road construction, to ensure they follow approved standards.
- Coordinate between contractors and site teams to minimise downtime and resolve interface challenges.
- Ensure all quality inspections, tests and documentation are completed, with records kept ready for review.
- Develop site specific instructions or procedures as needed to address unique construction challenges.
- Raise technical queries (TQ) or requests for information (RFI) to clarify design or material issues promptly.
- Liaise with materials teams to track deliveries, inspections and allocations in support of scheduled activities.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years’ construction experience, including 2 years on mining-related infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of construction materials, methods and equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting civil drawings and basic survey data; able to draft clear site sketches when needed.
- Class 4 driver’s licence.
