The ARC seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic person to the following position(s) at Natural Resources and Engineering (ARC-NRE), Arcadia, Pretoria
Job Description
  • Conduct studies of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in agricultural systems.
  • Develop a carbon management tool architecture and framework.
  • Build a carbon management software tool.
  • Develop a plan for implementation and testing of carbon management tools.
  • Collect and analyze primary and secondary data.
  • Write reports and scientific articles.
Job Requirements
  • PhD bursary: MSc degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Data Science / Information Systems.
  • MSc bursary: BSc Honours degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Data Science / Information Systems.
  • Applicants should be highly motivated graduates with a strong academic background.
  • Strong background in software development.
  • Proficiency in one of the scientific programming languages (R, Python, Java, etc.) is essential.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Valid driver’s licence (code 08/EB).
