The Footwear team is looking for a strong product focused and detail orientated Assistant Buyer to assist the Leisurewear Footwear Team with various aspects in the buying processes. The successful candidate will add value to the Footwear Team through assisting the Buyers in various aspects within the buying processes including the successful trending, sourcing and procurement of Footwear for all

Job Description

The Footwear team is looking for a strong product focused and detail orientated Assistant Buyer to assist the Leisurewear Footwear Team with various aspects in the buying processes.

The successful candidate will add value to the Footwear Team through assisting the Buyers in various aspects within the buying processes including the successful trending, sourcing and procurement of Footwear for all the Leisure brands.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administrative support to the Footwear Buyer
  • Manage a small own category buy
  • Responsible for product development
  • Communication with marketing, Suppliers, DC & stores
  • Expediting deliveries and SLA’s with various suppliers
  • Follow up on fits, lab dips, prints etc.
  • Assisting the Buyer with fit sessions, range building and selection
  • Following up on samples, sample rails for review and marketing
  • Controlling sample stock
  • Creating and managing tech packs
  • Assist in procuring new suppliers and effectively liaising with stakeholders
  • Ad-hoc duties which may be required from the buyer

Experience & Qualifications

  • Grade 12 certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification is required
  • 2 – 3 years experience working in a clothing retail environment is essential
  • Strong footwear experience is required
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Effective written & verbal skills
  • Preference will be given to candidates with similar work experience
  • A valid South African Driver’s License will be beneficial
  • Knowledge of PLM is essential and candidates with previous PLM experience will be given preference
