Our Leisure Brands have a new and exciting opportunity available for an Internal Fabric Recourse to join the current Leisure Design Studio as well as work alongside the respective Buying teams.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to align with the company vision, be self-motivated and actively involved in overseeing the end to end process in the applicable area of responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabric Intelligence Function:
    • Travelling and sourcing at overseas Fabric Trade Fairs
    • Establish new Fabric supplier base
    • In-season interpretation of performance based on Fabrics
    • Generating and presenting fabric trends on new fabrics and changes globally
    • Research new fabric trends
    • Ability to feed into Quick Response Model
  • Fabric Approval and Testing:
    • Oversight of local and imported fabric to maintain high quality levels in the business
    • Review technical reports received from fabric suppliers
    • Fabric development and approval
    • Standardisation of fabrics in the business
    • Focus on Sustainability
    • Engage and negotiate with suppliers
  • Establishment of local and international supplier base
    • Management and alignment of local fabric testing and procurement
  • Ability to understand and interpret retail trade

Experience & Qualifications

  • Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or Design is an important pre-requisite
  • 3 years of working experience in a similar role within a design environment is required
  • 3 years of working experience in CAD design is important
  • Previous experience working in a retail environment is advantageous
  • Working knowledge and experience with Coral Draw is non-negotiable
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and Outlook is essential
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of garment construction/manufacturing
